A sonnet.

This is my first attempt ever at a sonnet!

Soft brown eyes I wish to see
Speak louder then any word you utter
Where is my love to lay with me
Oh come send my heart a flutter
Distance between us so cruel
Dark nights I must spend alone
Time with you, more precious than a jewel
Oh please go and pick up the phone
How I am longing to hear your voice
That whispers so gentle and pure
I’m not asking you to make a choice
Only hoping our love will endure
Missing you more each day
Too long to be this far away
