The Absent Dad

Daddy,
when are you coming home?
Are you tall and handsome,
are you gentle, reliable
and strong?
Daddy,
where are you?
Are you ever coming home?
Are you waiting in the shadows,
waiting until I'm grown?
Daddy,
I need you,
I feel so all alone.
Damn you, Daddy!
Come home!
