How to view life from another perspective

    LIFE ETERNAL

After all the things we've done
are history gone,
there is only one that lingers on. 
And that is how we lived our life,
with perhaps no better measure,
than keeping score
on the lives we touched,
and helped along the way.

And taking pause with that reflection, 
when I view those few I touched,
they were the ones
who eventually became
the better part of who I was
and what I would become.
And when my body's life shall end, 
‘tis I who will be a part of them.

For as they live, so shall I,
and as they pass,
should my good deeds linger,
then with each my soul resides
and that, my hope, would be forever.
