My take on environmental degradation

The air that we consummate is it truly ours?
for it is conceived by the trees
yet we as a society shred it into paper and wood
put our materialistic passion forth towards second to nothing
nothing is what our destination shall be
for we have manipulated these resources once that were in abundance
is this a shot of karmic order or prehaps what we deserve to reap?
for what will fate be with a devastation of ecosystems
and prevalence of new host of dilemmas
we shall wilt like those herbs that we claim to have rights to
whose breath we thought was a variable we had control over
mother nature dictates what our future shall hold
for we have exploited her and she shall hand us the price of our temptations
