Compassionate Dreams

This is me thinking, when I've pretty much run out of things to think.

What is regret but a wish gone awry?
Sadness and jealously does disappointment imply.
You thought of a thought and another thing happened.
The changes in life can a many be rapid.
What is compassion but a dream going black?
Honestly now, is there no turning back?
To a life that seemed simple
and a home that seemed safe,
or will you end up
staring grief
In the face?
