Too Much Hate

Entrenched in hate and negativity? Snap out of it, already!

TOO MUCH HATE

look in the mirror
it may reveal
the cold gleam in your eye
the hate that you feel

why can't we relate?
why must I feel rage?
why do we just hate
instead of turning the page?

there was a time when I lived
with that sharp spark in my eye
so attuned to the negative
all I could do was cry.

But I wised up somewhere
remembered to gaze up into the sky
learned again how to care
flicked that tear from my eye.

Now I try to relate
its cool tides drown my rage
and I know beyond hate
lies peace on the next page.
