All Along

another one of my poems

You left me empty, all alone
I never felt so on my own
Wishes, hopes run through my head
But the reality’s you are dead

I don’t know how I carried on
After the day that you were gone
I drowned my mind in tears of pain
Wishing just for you again

Now you cannot comfort me
My endless pain, you cannot see
But I believe within my heart
That we can never be far apart

You told me once you’d never leave,
Six months on I still believe
The very thing that keeps me strong
Came from you all along
