Empty Words

A poem about loving someone more then they love you

You say “I Love You”
Those three small words
I’ve been waiting to hear
But I know you don’t mean it
Your eyes are empty
Your hearts not there
I wish I could see more
Than just a blank stare
A half hearted smile
I guess I’ll wait some more
For someone who cares enough
To actually mean an “I Love You”
Instead of handing out empty words
