A little 'when we were little' poem. |
| When we are little, We wish on stars, We believe in Prince Charming, and We dream of being president. We look up to celebrities based on the characters they portray, We ignore harsh reality, and We always see the glass half full I've matured, I no longer believe we have Prince Charmings of our own, and I am no longer interested in the strenuous political career track. I see celebrities for the washed up, druggies that they really are, I am not only aware of harsh reality - I'm conscious of the fact that it surrounds us every day, and My glass is not half full, it is slightly less than three quarters emptry I've assumed responsibility, I no longer find the human anatomy humorous, and I do not find life as simple as it used to be. But I still wish on stars. |
