| I stand with the hot white grains of sand massaging my feet. The sparkling white shore stretches out until it meets the sky that is spread above me. But my toes know what I want as they move forward and are licked by the water that is stretched out for miles before me. The water holds a million diamonds, winking and inviting me as they reflect the sun that is shining heat onto my skin. The sea begins to pull me in by the toes. A fish wriggles below the silencing and freeing surface. I long to be him, part of the brilliantly blue expanse spread before me: the beckoning water that seems as if it is just an extension of the cloudless sky. I squint against the sun as I search for where the water ends, the other side, and the sea pulls harder. |
