Darkness

Have you ever just sat in the empty darkness? I have.

The darkness engulfed everything
Only little bits of light showed, sharing none of there surroundings
No light reflected off the dark water
It's only an empty void
With the lack of the wonderous light
The water is as noticeable as black paint
Against a black back
Such a light thing as water
Normally reflecting a bright blue sky
When the night comes with darkness
Poisoning the water to an eerie black
But I know the light will return

A street light zipped on
Lighting the blackness
But sometimes seeing is worse
Instead of an empty nothing
All there was, was dark shapes
Casting dark shadows
But I know the light will return
