Shadows of Night

A simple fictional poem with deeper meaning than some may realize.

Dark shadows fall around me,
filling my entire world.
I am lost in this darkness,
unsure of myself.
It beckons and calls my name,
bringing me closer.
It promises so much to me,
giving dark pleasure.
I want to hold the dark close,
to feel it's power.
I want to become the dark
to become the night.
