My Aversion to Writing Poetry

My return to writing poetry and the story of what inspired me to jump back in.

You told me some advice
and it actually made some sense-
“you’re made the way you are for a reason- including all that crap going through your head, you should do something with it”

So I’m looking for the
interesting, non-imaginary,
with a complex of
worry about what I have to say.

Is it interesting, does it make much sense?  Because there are the great writers-
those who just get it-
they know what to say –
And I want to be great.

To hell with worrying about what to say,
It’ll come out eventually-
When I figure it out.

Til then, guess the words
might have to fill in the blanks-
But it’s all expression.
