Poem exploring alienation in relathionships |
| Last night as I sleep I flirt with the notion of drifting away Then I see your smile Cold enough to make me stay awhile To see if something will give Waiting for you to fall To see if I can still Feel anything At all It's not you Always apart inside Though your hand is in mine Can't be sure this is real Can't even touch deep enough to feel And if this is what remain All that is left to say Perhaps it would be best If I just drift Away It's not you When you whisper to me Your voice like a memory Of what our time has cost All the chances I've lost And how do I begin To pay the price for this sin Not trying long before To just drift Away It's not you. |
