a poem/song about a man who disappeared in my hometown |
| they say you live in the river so blue where the current took you in they've ravaged the water & looked for clues but they'll never find you bobby jones bobby jones bobby jones they can drain the river but they won't find your bones because I know, like you did, that the world can go insane and you'd like to runaway & begin again the townsfolk gathered at the river's edge where they say you went in at the rocky ledge they'd all in disbelief how this must be a dream and all the weeds and flowers began to grow down next to the stream but i know your secret i know your scheme bobby jones, bobby jones, bobby jones they could drain every river but they won't find your bones because you're living a brand new life in a brand new kind of world but to everyone else you'll become a myth and a mystery for the river to hold |
