Heartfelt poem

I wish I'd never sent you away
For I love you more each day
Now everyday that we're apart
It takes another piece of my heart.
I know what I did was wrong
Without you I just can't be strong
All it does is make me weak
Again it's you I have to seek.
You became my lover, my best friend
I wonder if you'll love me again
Things around me feel surreal
You'll never know the pain that I feel.
I should have never pushed you away
All it did was lead me astray
You are my heart, my soul, my everything
Now the tears that I cry just keep deepening.
The pain I feel is self inflicted
For the love I lost I have been convicted
To live my life without you in vain
Until the day you can love me again.
