Darkness

Our thoughts betray towards darkness

Dark sorrows swim through the night
Hidden from trails of open moonlight
Through the air bitingly cold
Tales from the depths unfold
Why it was hidden from the light of day
Blackness will find its way
Into your heart
Into mine
It is immortal corruption
Until the end of time
Your thoughts
Or mine
Spill like spoiled wine
Light will chase the dark
When the sun begins to spark
Shadows never disappear
They cower, hide, and leer
At the light unchained
For they know they shall rule again
