To The One I Love

An expression of true love after a heartbreaking journey.

When I first saw you, bells rang in my ears
But in my great despair, I ignored it with my tears
Dark clouds enveloped me and didn’t know which way to go
But the promises in His Words, reminded me blow by blow.

I fought the fiercest battle with the Words in my mind
But at times, I’m wounded with arrows that come from behind
I was on bended knees when He quickly lifted me up
Didn’t know He’ll use you to bring me to the top.

My eyes opened, when you started to brush away my tears
My thoughts slowly widened when you gently whisper in my ears
In your might, you blew the dark clouds from my sight
And with your love, you had held me so tight.

I know my life will surely change every time I see you
My pray’rs may God always grant that I may have a clue
To make you happy, with the love that you dearly deserve
That I may be pleasing to the Master we both serve.

You’re a part of my life, yes, I will always be
May you always see how true I am I will never flee
“I LOVE YOU” deep in my heart I can only say
May the ringing bells I heard long ago come without delay.
