Though broken from the start, im giving you my heart

I put forth my hands
in offering to you
this which i cannot have
this i cannot construe

Take it in your hands
Dont let it out of sight
Keep it close; dont ever let it go
And keep it safe at night

Keep it in a place
where love can be portrayed
Grant its desire of happiness
Let it not be afraid

Hush its quiet sobs
When faith has become real
Lend a shoulder to rest its tears
Time turned hope into steel

So you see I give
Though broken from the start
A piece of me that I cannot bear
Im giving you my heart
