Our dear Jess

I wrote this poem after our dear English Setter passed away at the age of 13.

OUR DEAR JESS

We loved you dearly
Throughout the years
You brought fun and laughter
And sometimes tears

You came to us so young
You grew up so fast
Now that time has gone
So quickly it flew past

A part of our family
You were from the start
You loved being with us
It was so hard to part

You were a lot more than
A special friend
So dear and sweet
Right to the end

You became old and frail
But you put up a fight
Then it was time for you to go
Now we miss you day and night

Feels like you're still with us
But now at peaceful rest
We miss you so much
You'll always be the best
