This is new --- written while being rejuvenated in my personal devotions. |
| MY QUIET PLACE by Maria Mize The palms and branches of the old oaks sway as the wind blows --- lightly, then more forcefully, its power increasing. I lift my face, absorbing the warmth of the son, the caress of the breeze on my skin and I breathe deeply. Whatever happens to me and wherever life takes me --- whether I be small or great --- there is peace in Him, inherent and tangible in His creation. I reflect on the rainbow and His promise to us never to destroy the earth again by flood ---- no matter how rotten and undeserving we be. I open my eyes a little wider ---- He is there in the majesty of the trees, and the mystery of the wind. I ponder ----- "... the meek shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." (Psalm 37:11) |
