There Was A Time

A poem I wrote one day when everything went wrong...

I see him in the hallway
<p>He looks away
<p>He makes his viola sing
<p>But I broke my wings

<p>I see his eyes are cold now
<p>And somehow
<p>I wish him a life of love
<p>And blessings from above

<p>It's been months since we've spoken
<p>I won't let my heart be broken
<p>But I don't know if or when
<p>I'll love again

<p>She's a lucky girl, it's true
<p>And I know she means the world to you
<p>I have just one last plea
<p>If it hurts, don't think of me.

<p>There was a time we said hello everyday
<p>And you made everything okay
<p>There was a time when I knew you
<p>Through and through
<p>There was a time when you were my all
<p>But then you let me fall
<p>There was a time when we were friends
<p>But now I know... it's got to end.
