A poem about a long distance relationship |
| Aspiration Imagination A dream awakened me Blissful and serene The world where I long to be free Imagery and everything in between. I awoke with a smile, but realized my reality I pondered upon it for a while, It began to suffice in my mentality. I will never kiss your lips; I will never be barely close enough, to feel your gentle grip. Everyday, for me this is tough. My heart will never be in perfect rhythm with your heart The way it beats for thee even though we are miles apart. Time is my rival eating slowly away the miles praying soon for my revival and a land of everlasting smiles. Who am I to question What is real and what isn't? You have become my obsession in dreams, until the sun has risen. For it is only there Where time does not object To the constant icy glare of life's little cause & effect. So be still the night And always take my breath away Keep me within your sight And beside me, say you'll stay. I won't give up on time Nor on this horizon we share For I know, this time you'll be mine In my dreams, the ultimate love affair. © Jenni Kennedy 2007 |
