Walk With Me Lord

A poem about obtaining strength and guidance from God.

WALK WITH ME LORD

Walk with me, Lord, and teach me
The things I need to do.  Tell me
What needs to be done to fulfill my
Destiny and my life course.  When
The road becomes rocky, place your
Sandals upon my feet so the rocks won’t
Hurt me.  When the wind turns to
Bone-chilling and my body becomes
Weak from its force, clothe me in Your
Love to keep me warm.  When the sun
Beats down upon me with its fury, and
Its heat penetrates my will to continue,
Blow Your breath upon me to cool my
Fears.  When the rain beats down upon
My brow in rage and my soul is in
Danger of drowning, give me Your kind
Hand to pull me out of the water that is
About to overcome me.  And when the
Tornado of change tries to entrap me with
Its worries and fears, please give me Your
Eyes to see that life is a cycle of change
And only a part of Your great plan.  And
One last thing, Lord.  When it becomes
Unbearable to travel upon this road, give
Me Your strength so that I can make it to
The end of the long, treacherous road that
I must travel to be with You.
