gone

i don't want to let my love go to war

To miss someone that is too far away and also

too far away to see everyday

It is making me feel unhappy

I miss the one that I want so close

No contact between us is killing me the most

He is gone, but not forever

I will see him soon, then I know I shall feel better

Right now I miss him more then he knows

And I want to see him, to let him know

But I can't for he is not here

The distance is not as great as it will soon be

I know he must leave soon for it is his job

But how do I tell him, to be safe

When I don't even know what may be his fate

I don't want to let him go off to war

But that choice is not mine to make you see

For he is in the U.S Army

The job he must do is something great

Protecting our country and keeping us safe

So I will not say a word

Keeping it all in slience unheard
