This is a poem I wrote in class for 9/11. |
| “Daddy don’t leave Please not tonight. Mommy’s too scared, And I’m full of fright!” “Jade, don’t worry I’m just going to work You know floor 93’s phones are open, And I’m simply a clerk.” Mommy’s shrilling screams My eyes shut tight. Daddy’s remains placed in a bag, And slowly lugged out of sight. Daddy was a victim Of someone’s cruel game. What those people did, Led my family through so much pain. Mommy always says If daddy had survived, We could live in peace, But the truth is, daddy is no longer alive. A plane killed daddy, That much I know. Now all I can ask is, “Who’s a friend and who’s a foe?” Listen over here, Listen to me, My name is Jade, I am only three. I know more Than many my age. If you read my diary, It’s filled page to page. |
