Original Poem that was turned into a song by Theresa Kiefer |
On a hill called Calvary between the sky and land a man hung. He came to set His people free but they did not understand, a hero unsung. And there before a blackend sky with love burning from His eyes he cried, "Forgive them!" His mother watched Him hanging there in helpless desperation and her heart died! She though of how He used to be so tiny and so carefree. Oh, How time flies! The nails that pierced His feet and hands dropped blood upon the barren land, yet, He stayed, no angels to command, while He cried... "Forgive them!" Oh, mother's cherish everyday! Teach your children Christ's love in everyway! Oh, How time flies! Jesus' blood still washes away our sin! Every day's a battle we can win! Don't let your heart's die! For the Christ who died on Calvary is still on His throne for you and me. Although, we make mistakes, He can set us free! For He still cries... "Forgive them!" |
