Hollow man

Another poem I Had to write for history. Again it isn't very good.

Hollow Man

A home away from home,
Mud, rats, rocks and gun shots.
Family but not blood,
Hopes, dreams, tears and wishes.

A life away from life,
Pain, death, loss and despair.
Contentment but not joy,
Clean, obey and orders.

A man away from man,
Wrong, sad, lost and pity.
Emotion but not felt,
Deaf, blind, mad and lifeless.

I feel as though my guts,
Heart, brain, life and spirit.
Have all been hollowed out,
I am empty and destroyed.
