Once in a While

A lot of life is nondescript,
very dull and full of tedium.
Once in a while, however,
we meet someone extraordinary,
someone who makes such a difference
that life is never the same again.
In '98, I met a lady so full of life,
so giving, caring and full of laughter
that the four months she was in my world
seemed like a lifetime. Her name is Lila.
I hope I meet someone like her again.
I miss her, and my life is in a rut.
Once in a while, we meet that special one
who defines happiness for the rest of time.
