Another Year

This is about getting out of a bad situation while you can!

I fight I scream I cry
But my life just seems to pass me by
Battered and bruised again
No matter how I try my wings just won't fly
I wait in agony praying it will end
What did I do wrong ,What was my sin
I struggle to find the courage to walk away
But it slips thru my fingers with each passing day
Desperation turns to contemplation
Then the fog brings rationalization
Meaningless words run thru my head
Replaying things done and said
Until I decide it's not so bad
After all it's my fault anyway
Suddenly a little voice whispers in my ear
Mommy are you ok? Don't worry he went away
When I hear the slamming door I struggle to
my feet, trembling with fear
But I know this can't go on another year
