In the Silence

The silence of the night
Entices me into it’s gloomy
Room and my head breaks

The shadows fall over the atmosphere
And the darkness fits like a glove
Over the pale hand that fell

I have not understood
And never shall.

The silence of the night
Drives the creatures into
The ancient hollows of the earth.

The ground shakes and fire
Bursts forth under violet hues
As the insects prey upon the dead.

The carcass of my body
Is all that is left of dread.

The silence is not known
But death is clearly near.
