Poetry written for the poetry league's weekly battles....random topic: Beautiful Flaws |
| Perfect Hues By Richard Vance Looking for perfection all around, Can it exist in this imperfect world? Diamonds shine and sparkle, Facets absolutely perfect to the naked eye, But if we should care to check beyond the crown, That closer look will oft reveal the secret Hidden deep within the stone. Certainly beautiful flaws abound Like human love that stands the test of time? And yet, So much beauty finds the living canvas ripe, The many colors blend to show the awesome sight The painter’s stroke reveals, Perfect crystal blue, Or Kaleidoscopes of colors thrown together Forming perfect hues, Not existing anywhere before. So boring, All the days upon the earth would be If beauty’s hold was not so different for us all? The smallest, slightest, bits of imperfection Seen with misty eyes, communicate The very things that make us all unique, For even nature can not bring about the perfect gift, It’s all just randomly conceived, It’s nature’s way of showing that We will always share a common ground. A sacred gift. |
