Two best friends get split up in high school and must find a way to piece it back together

Six years ago, in Colorado, Ryan saved Val from drowning, and ever since then, they've been inseperable. That is, until high school. Val wants to go to a more artsy school, while Ryan's mom is making him go to the neighborhood school. It's ok for a little while, until they get their own lives. Val gets caught up in fights between her friend groups, and Ryan gets caught up in drugs. Together, they find a way to piece back together each other's lives, as well as their friendship.
