| “Mom” 2/19/07 With a frame just over five feet And a silvery-gray mane of waves Her gentle smile and sincere countenance Can make everything alright. This married mother of two Likes to keep things clean and neat And is a talented cook – ‘Here, have a bite of this delectable treat.’ A college grad and working professional She’s also a friend, a daughter, and a sister too, She’ll do her best for me or for you. With a heart of gold And a voice soft and sweet My favorite soprano combines her vocal range With the harmonious tones in the church choir. To young and old she is dear, indeed And means so much to all who meet her With her traditional values And sense of humor There is so much I love About this sweet soul My feelings extend beyond these words I’ve told So whether I’m young and until I grow old I’m always grateful for Mom Perhaps the nicest woman I’ll ever meet. |
