Angel Stay

a friend losing his innocence and youth because of the world around him

He screams, heard by no one,
into the cold air.
The muffled echo of his pain
still rings in my ears.
Anger took my angel away.

Falling through the thickest floors
of his cloudy sky,
he covers his ears with his hands
so he'll not hear the people cry.
Sadness took my angel away.

Now, pushed up against the wall,
he can no longer
overlook this world's mistakes.
Although the blood made him stronger,
Hatred took my angel away.

Compelled to walk through the darkness,
my angel's all alone
for he does not know happiness.
Now, I know it's a long way home,
but maybe...
love could make my angel stay.
