Elevator Music

One day my teacher was playing this GODAWFUL music...

Down, down, down,
Through the dark,
An endless abyss
Of pain
And elevator music.
Strike a chord
Of desperation
Deep within my soul-
I’m trapped.
No way out.
Wrong note:
Reverberating
In the emptiness
As I try to grab hold.
It’s no use—
I fall.
