Poem written for a contest, also kinda directed toward my life |
| Though my heart should beat wildly Your hand in mine keeps it tame And, approaching it shyly, This altar to take your name, I know, with no doubt in sight, That never again shall I Be given reason for fright. And never again shall I Have uncertainty near me To distract me from my goal Because, with the certainty Of your smile, you make me whole. Your love, so infused in me, Gives me all the strength I need And all my courage, you see, That your love is all I need. Its all I need for support Its all I need to suppress A frequent spiteful retort. And while this may not impress You at any later times, Now my life is born anew So brightly I hope it shines On this day I marry you. 24 lines |
