A Moment Locked in My Heart

I close my eyes and see your smile
It takes me to the world I love
I envision the sparkle in your eyes
When you tell me I’m beautiful
Or your sweet smile as you call me precious

I imagine the feel of your arms wrapped around me
You pulling me into your self
Surrounding me with your warm love and loving energy
I imagine your hand on my cheek
Your fingers gliding through my hair
I feel your lips brushing against my forehead

I never dreamed I could find a thought
That could bring me such complete peace
A mantra
A calming of the frenzy we call life

This is an image I have made my own
I keep it locked up in my heart
I can take it out when I need to feel you close to me
I can take it out whenever I please

It is a beautiful gift your heart gave to mine
A beautiful moment in time that stops the world
If only for a brief respite

I take a deep breath
Breathing in the memory
Breathing you in
And I feel alive
And I feel blessed

And now I am sharing that moment with you
Lock it in your heart
And take it out whenever you need to calm the storm
