Dammed up
And Screaming for release
They seep through the seams
Eager to be free
Eager to escape me...
More tears get through
Breaking the seams that hold them
This Dam is coming unglued
The supports are crumbling,
What can I do?
Wait in Anguish...
Or Confront the Truth
This Dam is holding water back
It is blocking my path!
Let the tears come
So I can once again laugh
Bring on the rain!
So these walls will crack
Fill this lake
With Sorrow and Strain
Leave an outlet for the Pain
And bring these Walls down!
Set the river free
Free from animosity
Anger and Ferocity
Free from tossed dice and flipped coins
Free from a solitary path
May Rivers Join
To speak of the past
And the paths
That were held back
Sharing the past Anguish
Before the Dam cracked
Let the River flow
To no longer look back
Forever knowing
The strength it has now
Comes from the Past
