Betrayed

This is a follow up to my poem 'Not Without Me'. I tried to explain more through poetry.

Betrayed,
By trust.
Lied to,
By those I held dear.

I push them away,
They don't beg to say.
We know we must move on.
Though the road may be long.

I can not stand the pain,
The betrayal,
And the lies.
He chose to lay with her,
and lied to me,
I can not help but try to flee.

Pray that life will continue,
I have to rebuild,
Have to find the one who,
Will be my shield.
Mend my broken heart,
Wipe away my tears,
And keep me safe,
For the rest of my years.
