Love Lost.

I still shiver when I think of you
how your warmth filled me
your smile so tender
as your hand took mine
quietly shaking I stood with you
as vows filled the air
they mingled with the scent of roses
while all watching fell silent
regrets filled their hearts
as reproach did their eyes
we were too young they said
yet love shone on that day
brilliant despite the rain
and blind to the future
so we danced our dance
then fought our fights
our dreams fell like ashes
as we watched love slip away
I am stronger without you
but my heart isn't whole
it broke and never healed
too much love filled it
now it never stays full
our hands fit together so well
but our souls never will
