A poem of desire for what cannot be obtained. |
| Like a thirst in the desert So my heart aches for you Like my lungs yearn for air My arms long for your touch. As my heart desires, My mind knows that we cannot be So you are and so remain But a sight to see. Yet the heart will not be so swayed It is a burning within me. Thus I hope for a closer time When I may know and behold thee. |
