Funny poem for a contest |
| RAINING CATS AND DOGS The rain is falling on the roof, And on the long green grass. I’m sitting in the rumpus room Waiting for it to pass. It’s thumping down, and really loud, The dogs begin to bark. I look outside my big window, Can’t see because it’s dark. The many cats begin to meow, As I just start to say, ‘We have only just one dog, And our cat, she ran away’. I go outside and then I see A yard all full of fur, And tails and feet and fluffy ears, A WOOF, and then a purrr. It wasn’t the rain that was falling down, It was raining cats and dogs. I haven’t the food to feed them all, Oh, no! here come the frogs. I buy dog food and Whiskas too, To feed all my new friends. But we’re amidst a wet season, The rain, it never ends. I think I’ll open a big pet shop, Sell food and kennels and logs. I have to make so much more money To feed all these cats and dogs. |
