Reflective thoughts of sitting on a hillside on a Summer morning, taking in all of nature. |
| Moment In A Summer Field By Richard Vance Upon a hill I sit and gaze, I see the golden hue of morning sun Reflecting off a gently swaying field of grass. The summer breezes warm my face. They tickle me and sooth my soul, And I just smile at the wonder of it all. A robin hops from branch to branch, His morning songs rehearsed. Suddenly, a patch of brown I glimpse, A solitary woodchuck darts and dashes Here and there, so wild and so free, Without a care at all, to who may see. The meadow’s flowers in full bloom, That paint a picture on the hillside’s canvas page, Perhaps it's nature's way to decorate the scene, and all at once, a brightly colored Butterfly alights, Motionless upon my arm, the messages arrive so clear, All Thoughts I hear, are handed off from God to me. I give thanks for all I am, for all I see, I'm so lucky just to be alive and free. |
