A sonnet-styled poem about love, betrayal, abandonment. |
| In The Still of the Night ? In the still of the night when your love’s away And you shiver as you draw the drapes closed You’ll think of me, and you’ll think of the day You rejected all the love I proposed. In the still of the night when I’m dancing In the arms of some devilish young man See visions of me constantly prancing In your mind, star-kissed, moonlit, on the sand. As waves crash on the shore with majesty And the sea foams and swells with excitement You’ll ponder why you desired to be free And if by ‘love’ this is what I had meant. You may think of me now without sorrow, But you’ll crave me with passion tomorrow. ? |
