Poem about nature, a solitary walk and experiening the forest come alive... |
| A WALK ALONE IN SOLITUDE by Richard Vance I walk alone in solitude A chance to think and ponder long, The simple things of life, To simply be, Or perhaps a chance to smell the forest’s scent, To have a conversation with a tree, The sweet soft sound of laughter from A happy brook, Suddenly just fills the air, Gurgling, smiling, sliding Gently over rocks and grass, Whispering in the wind to me That all is well, And somehow my intent is known, I mean no harm, And only wish to simply be a part, A tiny sparrow stops to chat To speak her mind, And hops so carefully upon on a Single branch above my head, A stately chipmunk jabbers on And stops so brief to make his presence known, I’ve come alive, Arrived within another world, A paradise has opened just for me, And although I did not seek that open door, Find mother nature’s invitation Much too lovely to ignore. |
