Faire Tale No More

Just about sadness

In light, so gloriously abundant
While rays of sun shine down
I’m reminded of your warmth
Just as beams of light caress

Your touch, however far away
Lays its gentleness upon me
Silver wings of wishful dreams
Glimmer in each hopeful ray

Though darkness soon will come
Shadows of doubt and fear approach
Stretching out their wanting hands
Wishing to take hold on peace of mind

No beams from light of moon or stars
Give relief from the demons of night
Fearing my soul to perish, I retreat
Hiding in the farther parts of myself

Where no mortal could ever find its way
The shadows overtake the land of dreams
Escape for me will never come
No more shall I see day……
