A experimental abstract dream poem mixing colors, sounds, taste, sensory elements. |
| YELLOW MELLOW DREAM by Richard Vance Yellow mellow streams of light, A tantalizing taste upon my tongue, That too soon will melt into my soul, And then Iβll hear forgotten grapefruit bands begin to play their culinary tunes, Their sunlight notes, lemon drip scales, The sweet and sour mixes blending into abstract sights and sounds, A slightly odd but tasty sensory delight, Bananas, lemons peels, and sunflower petals calling out my name, And immediately I think of gentle, soft and brightly colored fields of wheat, Just blowing, sighing, singing in the breeze, A subtle fragrant golden melody, Golden light, golden bright, All pent-up passions burst upon the scene, But simply feel, to me, like soft pastel against my skin, A single faded memory, a daisy in a diary, And yet, thereβs nothing but the Yellow mellow streams of light, I want to keep these memories but surely know it was never meant to be. |
