Voices

Voices telling me something

I hear them
the voices
some I know
some I don't
they are shouting in my head
too loud
I can't hear what they are trying to tell me
in a foreign language
I don't understand

One day I'll make sense of it all
maybe one day I'll learn the language
maybe the droning of the voices won't rip my ears apart anymore
it's like a wave of water engulfing me
drowning me
washing over and into every inch of my body
of my being

I need to let go
then they can let go of me
if I could only hear what they are trying to say
if I could only feel what they want me to

I can't take the noise...
