of a summertime rain

spellbound amazement
unfolding wonder
upon wingless souls
desire found
upon countless thresholds

evoking sails
born on reminiscent winds
silent journey
enlighten winding the course
like a phantom’s kiss
a relic of the harbor’s mist

sorrow
like a drawing
arcs the lessons
from a schoolhouse grave
beneath memories
whisper still
courtesy of an ignorant sage

narcissistic drums
conjures hypnotic dance
a poet breaths the magic trance
clamoring rant
his words climax in chant

VI
from warnings forgotten
a thousand epithets speak
found wisdom
hardest to view
childhood desire never gained
a father’s hurt never explained
